Why is your Yard consultation $100+?

Yard Consultation Fee of $100* includes our time for a yard evaluation which typically takes about 30-90 minutes (sometimes even longer), a custom design which can take hours to design and finalize, and our time for a follow up meeting. On average we spend about 3-6 hours per client before we even set foot on the property to start our installation. It is a one-time fee (per property), and if we do future projects for you on the same property you will not be charged again.

Another reason we charge for consultations is that from time to time we do get clients who are interested in having many questions answered, request an estimate and design, and then decide to move forward with having their “yard guy” do the work, or they decide to take on the project themselves now that they have a professional design. Either scenario is fine! If the clients budget does not meet the estimated cost for the project, or they are just looking for a design on a dime, so be it. We understand and respect the fact that not all clients are looking for the same thing, and that not every consultation is going to end with an installation, although that is the ideal goal.

However, to be fair to all parties involved we should at the very least get paid for our time and landscape design.

*Consultation fee is to be collected upon completion of our first meeting. We accept cash, check, or VENMO: @NaturallyRooted.

* Price may vary on the consultation fee depending on where you are located in relation to Orlando. For example: Sanford, Lakemary, Dr. Phillips, Apopka, Windermere and Lake Nona fall into the $150 range, as there is more travel time and traffic to contend with for our consultation and follow up.

Why is your POtting consultation $50+?

Potting Consultation Fee of $50* includes our time for a potting evaluation which typically takes about 30-60 minutes, and our time at our vendors selecting plants to best suite your tastes. On average we spend about 2-4 hours per client before we even set foot on the property to start our installation. It is a one-time fee (per property), and if we do future projects for you on the same property you will not be charged again.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. Once the design has been approved by the client, we require a 50% deposit of the total estimate, so that we can move forward with plant and product purchases.

Do you have yard Installation or potting job minimums?

Yes, due to an increase in demand we have implemented job minimums:

Clean Outs: $1200

Landscape Installation: $2000

Potting Services: $250

Raised Veggie Beds: $1000

DO YOU DO SOD?

No! Unfortunately, we do not include sod replacement or installments into our scope of work. We do, however remove sod if new planting beds are being created.

The main reason for this is that we CAN NOT guarantee its quality or survival due to its finnicky and high maintenance nature. As a result, we have had to replace sod way too many times to make it worth our time and efforts.

We prefer and advocate the use of native ground covers and grass alternatives such as Perennial Peanut, Frog Fruit, Sunshine Mimosa, etc.

We recommend you contact a professional sod company for your grass needs.

What areas do you service?

What’s the difference between a lawn maintenance company and a landscape company?

There is a common misconception that providing landscaping services is the same as lawn maintenance. THEY ARE NOT!

Lawn maintenance companies provide weekly, biweekly, or monthly services regarding the regular upkeep of your yard. They make sure that the lawn is cut, hedges are trimmed, trees/palms are manicured, rake up leaves, pull weeds, and/or may provide some minimal spraying services for weeds.

Landscaping is the umbrella term used by larger companies that may or may not have a lawn maintenance division, but can also provide landscape design and installations, tree work, clean outs, and potting services. Some companies even provide more specialized services like irrigation, lighting, fencing, masonry work and pressure washing.

Are you strictly “ALL NATIVe”?

No. We believe in the magic, importance and ease of Florida Natives, however we appreciate the beauty and wonder of flora in general. Acknowledging that some “foreign or exotic” plants do just as well at attracting and feeding pollinators and wildlife, while others are just simply stunning in their own right. Our goal is to include natives as much as possible and only use well behaved, foreign plants that are not listed on Invasive Lists in Florida.

Collectively, we have over 10+ years of personal and professional experience in the landscape and lawn maintenance industries.
